Walgreens Balance Rewards Program Review

I was somewhat skeptical about this program first and Walgreens move away from Register Rewards.

Here is my breakdown from my recent purchases:

9/16 Purhases
(4) ID Gum Total $2.00 – 2,000 Points
(2) 24-Pack Purified Water $3.98 – 1,000 Points
(2) Huggies Slip-On $8.98 – 2,000 Points

9/23 – Special 5,000 bonus on $30…Total cost after Register Rewards: $2.70 – 5,000 points
(4) Enfamil Enfagrow Toddler milk 4-Pack
(1) FRS Energy Shots 2pk, 2oz
(1) 3M Air Allergy Advanced Nasal Filter 12pk
(1) Colgate Optic White Toothpaste
(1) Crest 3D White Dental Care Toothpaste

9/30 – With Centrum, Thermacare, Robutussin, Lysol purchases:
(3) Robutussin $4.99 each – 4,000 point for 3 and $3/1 coupon in paper Total: $5.97
(2) Centrum ProNutrients $11.99 B1G1 50% off – 2,500 points and $5/1 printable Total: $7.99
(2) Lysol Toilet Cleaner 2/$5 – 1,000 points and $.50/2 printable Total: $4.50
(4) Nabisco Crackers $.99 each – 250 points wyb 2 – $1/2 printable Total: $1.96

Total Points: 18,000 for $20 credit
Total Spent: $38.22 plus tax

So for the first three weeks of this program, for every $1 I spent at Walgreens I got $.53 cents back.  This is a pretty decent deal.  Another nice surprise is that almost all of these items I regularly use. Not sure what I’m going to do with my stockpile of Robitussin, but you never know when that may come handy.
